- Metro Nashville Police Department calls for service have gone down 50% since 2016.
- 80% of police calls in 2022 were non-criminal situations, and only 5% were for violent situations.
- Property offenses accounted for 20% off call volume in 2022.
- At least 75% of calls for service in 2022 resulted in no public safety outcome.
- Only 2% off calls for service in 2022 resulted in an arrest or citation.
- As of 2023 MNPD has 137 fully funded ($13 million in excess funds) but unfilled police positions, with only 40 slated to be filled and an increase in officer resignations. Despite this they have proposed a $16 million increase in police spending in the city's upcoming budget, on top of the $42 million in increased funds since 2020.
