Hauntology
Hauntology is a term used by cultural critic and philosopher Mark Fisher, among others, to refer to the way that elements of the social or cultural past are reintroduced into the present, by making direct or indirect nods to their influence in newer art or other creative and cultural works. Related to the ideas of retrofuturism, cultural memory and the persistence of the past.
