Cybernetics
A field of study whose core focus is circular causality and feedback. It is an intersectional, transdisciplinary, antidisciplinary concept that crosses many fields and thus has a large number of diverse applications and interpretations. It is applied to the study of topics such as:
- audio production
- technology
- biology
- philosophy
- cultural criticism
- social systems
- artificial intelligence
- cognitive science

Cybernetics is named after an example of circular causality, that of steering a ship, where the helmsperson maintains a steady course in a changing environment by adjusting their steering in continual response to the effect it is observed as having.
Interesting note: "kubernetes" is the Greek etymological root of "cybernetics." Kubernetes is an open source container orchestration system that I use professionally every day.
